History

Little Island/Glounthaune Scout Group was formed in 1982 and started out the old community hall which was located opposite the primary school in Little Island. The group has had a successful history of explorer belts, chief scout awards and Melvin placing. The group built its own hall in 1989 which is located on Clash Road in Little Island.

Today our group has over 100 members. These are split into four sections, Beavers 7-8, Cubs 9-11, Scouts 12-14 and Ventures 15-17. The group continues to have members achieving the Explorer Belt, the Challenge Woggle, Chief Scout Awards and attending The Phoenix Challenge.
